Perception Study

A qualitative research process involving structured interviews with investors and analysts to identify specific beliefs, concerns, valuation drivers, and misperceptions about a company. Perception studies provide actionable intelligence to guide IR messaging, investor targeting, and management communication strategies.

PIPE (Private Investment in Public Equity)

A financing transaction in which a private investor — typically an institutional fund — purchases shares or convertible securities directly from a listed public company at a negotiated price, bypassing the public markets. PIPEs are commonly used by small- and mid-cap companies requiring rapid capital access.

Pitch Development

The process of crafting a compelling story angle or message for proactive outreach to media, investors, or analysts. In IR, pitch development involves distilling the investment thesis into a clear, differentiated hook that motivates a meeting or coverage initiation.

Podcast Pitching

The outreach process used to secure guest appearances on podcasts relevant to a company’s investor audience — including finance, capital markets, and sector-specific shows. Podcast appearances can build executive brand, communicate the investment story, and earn backlinks to the IR website.

Post-Meeting Feedback

The structured capture — through follow-up notes, CRM entries, or IR platform data — of what was discussed, what resonated, what concerns were raised, and what follow-up is required after an investor or analyst meeting. Post-meeting feedback is essential for refining messaging and prioritizing next steps.

Pre-Meeting Intelligence

Research gathered on meeting participants — including their portfolio composition, recent trades, published views on the sector, and previous interactions with the company — to enable management to tailor messaging, anticipate questions, and engage more effectively.

Presentation & Q&A Coaching

Training provided to executives and IR teams to improve their ability to deliver the investment story clearly, handle difficult investor questions confidently, and manage Q&A sessions effectively — whether in earnings calls, investor day presentations, or one-on-one meetings.

Proofreading

The technical review of investor materials — including press releases, presentations, annual reports, and website content — for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and compliance before publication. Proofreading is a critical quality control step in any IR communications workflow.

Proxy Advisor

A firm that provides voting recommendations and research to institutional shareholders on AGM agenda items — including director elections, executive compensation (say-on-pay), and shareholder proposals. The two dominant proxy advisors globally are ISS (Institutional Shareholder Services) and Glass Lewis.

Proxy Circular

The document sent to shareholders soliciting votes ahead of the AGM, providing detailed information on board nominees, executive compensation, auditor appointment, and shareholder proposals. Also called the management proxy circular or proxy statement.
