Continuous Disclosure
The ongoing regulatory obligation for public companies to promptly disclose material information to the market. In Canada and the US, continuous disclosure requirements are enforced by securities regulators (SEDAR/SEC) to ensure investors have equal and timely access to information.
Cookie Consent
A website mechanism that informs users about the use of cookies and obtains their consent before placing non-essential cookies (e.g., analytics or marketing cookies) on their device, in compliance with privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
Corporate Access
The facilitation of introductions and scheduled meetings between public company management and relevant institutional investors or analysts. Corporate access is often coordinated through sell-side brokers, investor conferences, or direct IR outreach.
Corporate Communications
The function responsible for managing all communications between a company and its external stakeholders — including investors, media, employees, and the public. In IR, corporate communications and investor relations work together to ensure consistent, compliant messaging.
Corporate Governance
The framework of rules, practices, and processes through which a company is directed and controlled. It defines the relationship between the board, management, shareholders, and other stakeholders — covering accountability, transparency, board structure, and executive oversight.
Corporate Presentation (Investor Presentation / 'Deck')
A structured slide-based document used in investor meetings, roadshows, and conferences to communicate a company’s business model, strategy, competitive positioning, financial performance, and investment thesis. A compelling corporate presentation is one of the most important tools in an IR program.
Corporate Transactions
Strategic deals that materially change a company’s structure or operations, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, financings, and restructurings. These events trigger significant IR responsibilities: communicating the rationale, fielding investor questions, and managing market perception through the transaction process.
Corporate Video
Video content produced to communicate a company’s story, strategy, leadership, or key milestones to investors, analysts, and stakeholders. Corporate videos are used on IR websites, at investor days, and across owned and social media channels.
CPIR (Certified Professional in Investor Relations)
A professional credential awarded by CIRI (Canadian Investor Relations Institute) to experienced IR practitioners who demonstrate mastery of investor relations practice, ethics, and financial knowledge. The CPIR designation signals credibility and professional commitment in the IR field.
Crisis Communication Plan
A predefined playbook that establishes messaging frameworks, designated spokespersons, approval processes, and communications channels to be used during a corporate crisis. Having a plan in place before a crisis occurs significantly reduces response time and reputational damage.
