Sonia is a senior marketing, communications, and investor relations executive with nearly two decades of experience across asset management, institutional investing, and financial services. She combines capital markets expertise with strategic marketing and brand leadership, helping organizations strengthen market positioning, build investor and stakeholder confidence, and support long-term growth.
As Vice President, Marketing at Alliance Advisors IR, Sonia leads the firm’s marketing and communications strategy, brand positioning, and corporate messaging. She develops integrated programs that support business development and client engagement across Canadian and global markets, while overseeing digital and website strategy, social media, content marketing, thought leadership, and executive communications. She also leads and mentors the Marketing & Communications team and partners across Investor Relations, Capital Markets, PR & Media, and Strategic Advisory to strengthen the firm’s value proposition and market presence.
Previously, Sonia held leadership roles with Desjardins Global Asset Management, CI Global Asset Management, TD Greystone Asset Management, RBC, and OPTrust, shaping marketing, communications, and investor engagement strategies across leading Canadian investment organizations. She began her career with publicly listed small-cap mining companies and later in investor relations at Canada’s largest bank, gaining broad experience across capital markets and shareholder communications before building her career in asset management and institutional investing. Her experience spans public and private markets, alternative investments, pensions, and institutional asset management, with a focus on strategic marketing and brand strategy, corporate and investor communications, investment and executive communications, thought leadership, stakeholder engagement, and business development.
Sonia holds an Executive MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Business Law from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University).
