SPAC (Special Purpose Acquisition Company)

Definition:

A publicly listed shell company created for the sole purpose of raising capital through an IPO and then merging with a private company to take it public — offering an alternative to the traditional IPO process. SPAC mergers require active IR engagement to communicate the transaction rationale and support post-merger investor retention.
