Guiding private company in establishing investment-banking relationships for pre-IPO, equity raise and IPO

The Situation

An online education technology company engaged us to present management’s growth strategy to the investment community. With the near-term goal of conducting an IPO, management was consulting with our on various capital raise options including pre-IPO and in conjunction with an IPO.

Solution

The comprehensive program included the following:

  • Conducted briefings to sell-side analysts covering the education tech sector.
  • Made introductions to investment bankers focused on SaaS and cloud-based technologies.
  • Established relationships with institutional investors active in the education technology sector.
  • Solicited for invitations to appropriate investment conferences.

Results

The 18-month initiative yielded significant results. We established multiple opportunities for management to present at private company tracks of leading bulge bracket and boutique investment banking conferences. We introduced management to multiple research analysts in the education technology space, resulting in a relationship with a highly desired bulge bracket firm. In addition, through our outreach we cultivated interest from multiple leading investment banks to conduct a pre-IPO capital raise. The company is currently considering funding alternatives and an IPO plan.
